Class and Contemporary British Culture
Biressi and Nunn jointly conceived the book’s remit - as evidenced by earlier co-delivered research papers. They jointly drafted the plan. Their distinctive contributions derived from their individual research expertise with Nunn focusing on Thatcherism, political culture, immigration and belonging and Biressi addressing crime, law and order, social exclusion and popular culture. Other topics were distributed through negotiation of workloads and personal interest. Nunn wrote early drafts of chapters 1, 2, 7, 8. Biressi wrote early drafts of 3, 4, 5, 6. The afterword was jointly written. All drafts were exchanged, heavily annotated and amended numerous times by both parties.
