Additional information

This is the first paper to demonstrate the viable use of spherical statistics for channel modelling, and also showed the correlation and fit with real data sets. The model is valid for a Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) system and hence has applicability to many modern channel models (e.g. LTE, 802.11x). The research has since been used as a channel modelling reference for a commercial LTE physical layer simulation product [Steepest Ascent Ltd, Senior Engineer, faisal.darbari@steepestascent.com]. (SME Steepest Ascent Ltd were acquired by MathWorks in 2013).
