Additional information

<23> The new image data formats that were proposed and demonstrated in this paper became a new International Data Format Standard (ISO/IEC 19794-6:2011), after tests conducted by NIST (published 2010) confirmed their efficacy even for images compressed as severely as to 2,000 bytes. In May 2013 the Government of India published a test report confirming that more than 100,000 on-line authentication transactions had been successfully conducted using these severely compressed image formats over very low bandwidth channels.

Senior industrialists (UIDAI and MorphoTrust) to verify the claimed adoption available on request.
