Hierarchical Chiral Expression from the Nano- to Mesoscale in Synthetic Supramolecular Helical Fibers of a NonamphiphilicC3-Symmetrical π-Functional Molecule
This work, in which molecular chirality is expressed in the macroscopic helical shape of fibres, came from a collaboration within a work group of the European Chemistry and Molecular Sciences COST Action D35 “From Molecules to Molecular Devices” with Prof. N. Avarvari (CNRS, Angers, France) and Prof. D. Amabilino (Material Science Institute of Barcelona, Spain). This led to further work with Prof Avarvari (Chirality, 2013, 25, 466-474), while other collaborations arose from the COST group (with Prof. H. Vos, Dublin City University; Electrochim. Acta, 2013, 100, 188-196, Prof. M. Almeida, Technical University of Lisbon, Eur. J. Inorg. Chem., 2009, 3084-3093).
