Additional information

Collaborating with manuscript archivists in Ohio, Harris played the key role as scholarly expert in transcribing and publishing this unique object, an original notebook written by William Burroughs before he was a published author in which he recorded the transformation of his travels through Latin America into fiction. The transcription took three years of painstaking work to decipher the handwriting, followed by the construction of both “diplomatic” and “plain” text versions to accompany the facsimile reproduction of the original artefact. Harris also contributed the 17-page Introduction and editorial notes.
