<22> This paper represents a research collaboration with Zhejiang University in China. It describes a system where the GPS routes of users are predicted by extracting route patterns from personal trajectory data using a novel mining algorithm. There is clear potential for commercial impact and the work has attracted the attention of other researchers. For example, it has been extended from short-term to long-term activities by Je-Min Kim, Haejung Baek and Young-Tack Park (Probabilistic Graphical Model based Personal Route Prediction in Mobile Environment, Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences No. 2S pp. 651S-659S, 2012).
