Double-weighted statement

The book’s originality, international significance and academic rigour are based both on previously unpublished archival sources and the scope of the theoretical framework. Greta Kuckhoff’s papers (Federal Archives, Berlin) comprise 7.16 meters which were only partially catalogued when I began work in 2008. Documents from four further archives relating to different media (including journals, exhibitions, film, radio, and television) and from the former Stasi archives were necessary in order to consolidate the evidential breadth. Combined with an interdisciplinary theoretical framework (spanning literary history, media and memory studies), the sources enable a provocative intervention in contemporary debates about antifascism.
