Additional information

This award-winning concept paper (2nd International Air Transport and Operations Symposium (ATOS) Conference), was invited as a journal paper and has contributed to increased collaborative relationships both locally (Jim Scanlan, Southampton; Steve Wiseall, Rolls-Royce) and abroad (Paul Collopy, formerly National Science Foundation, US; as of October 2013 University of Alabama, Huntsville). The paper presents an innovative and radical new approach to design and manufacturing trades and design decisions, resulting in a paradigm shift in how the aerospace industry considers whole product life cycle issues.
