Prof Walker is associate editor of the Chemical Engineering Journal and this publication led to the invitation to be guest editor of this special issue of Chem Eng J. on powder processes. The paper is investigates the engineering applications of novel activated carbons synthesised at QUB. The work secured PoC funding from Invest NI on granular adsorption processes, which has led to patented technology and a University spin-out company recently £1.1M from Technology Strategy Board, SBRI - Greenius Competition and Material innovation for a sustainable economy.
