Significance of output:

The work was supported by the SimSAC project under funding from the Sixth Framework programme of the European Union (total cost €5,109,800). Wind tunnel tests were performed at the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute, Russia, on a transonic cruiser concept, and these were used to assess static and dynamics simulations. A good agreement was found. Data were then used to investigate the limitations of traditional flight dynamics models for nonlinear flow conditions. This work motivated further research on acceleration techniques in the frequency and time domain for periodic flows.
