<22>This paper describes a new bio-inspired particle swarm based method for automatic programming which is based on the herding characteristics of horses. It makes use of the mapping function from Grammatical Evolution to automatically create programs from a context free grammar. Results show that the algorithm is able to quickly find highly fit solutions. The method, when used as a means for seeding Grammatical Evolution, is able to generate state-of-the-art solutions to standard benchmarks used to evaluate Evolutionary and Automatic Programming Algorithms.
