GT2FC : An Online Growing Interval Type-2 Self-Learning Fuzzy Classifier
The algorithmic approach presented is novel as the results were obtained using an ambient intelligence application, where the goal is to exploit sensed data (from sensors and actuators) to monitor the living space. The results show not only the suitability of the proposed approach, but also better performance compared to the current state-of-the-art methods. Published in 2013 the paper has already resulted in Bouchachia being invited to contribute to a 2014 handbook on computational intelligence to be edited by Prof. Plamen Angelov, Lancaster University and published by World Scientific. It will include chapters by world leaders in the respective topic.
