This paper reports the results of an international collaboration. It presents the first ever method developed able to accurately locate faults in distribution networks which include a large number of wind farms. This is of great importance in preparing for the expected high penetration of wind generation into future distribution networks. The technique is now being evaluated by Western Power Distribution with a view to future adoption.
