34 - Art and Design: History, Practice and Theory
University of York
Rethinking the Interior, c. 1867 - 1896 : Aestheticism and Arts and Crafts
Edwards co-conceptualised and co-edited the volume, selecting the best papers from a two-day interdisciplinary conference, which he co-organised, featuring academics and curators from the UK, US, and Canada; from Art History, English, and Design History. Following the conference, Edwards and his co-editor also commissioned new essays to enhance the methodological ambitions of the book as a whole; for example providing an English translation of a key essay on artists' studios previously only available in Dutch. Edwards single-authored a chapter, 'The Lessons of Leighton House: Aesthetics, Politics, Erotics' (pp. 85-110); and with his co-editor provided a joint-authored introduction (pp. 1-24).
