Additional information

A new numerical model for the analysis of creep damage growth in thin plates is presented, allowing, for the first time, the modelling of the tension-compression asymmetry of initially polycrystalline materials. Conventional creep damage predictions assuming the same properties in tension and compression are shown to result in a significant underestimation of the failure initiation time.
