Additional information
SHIFT uses the pore-space topology to achieve 10X improvements in efficiency, is suited for parallel implementation, and creates a game-changing opportunity for LB methods on high-resolution models. SHIFT was an essential enabling technology in a NERC project (£106k, NE/H002804/1) focused on developing a digital-rock classification scheme, and it was used as a benchmark method in novel work applying a FE/FV solution scheme for porous materials (DOI:10.1016/j.advwatres.2010.08.008).
