Labour’s Crisis: Plaid Cymru, the Conservatives and the Decline of the Labour Party in North West Wales, 1960-74
This 100,000+ word monograph examines political change in four electoral constituencies in north-west Wales across a period of 20 years. It utilises a considerable body of English and Welsh medium primary sources (many un-catalogued) deposited in local, national Welsh and British archives, to present a critical insight and argument that was wholly dependent upon a lengthy period of data collection, interpretation and analysis. The complexity of the thesis, as well as the ground covered, goes well beyond that expected in a single-weighted research article and required a research effort to produce which is equivalent to at least three single outputs.
