Additional information

This paper investigates the design of a robust PID-type Load Frequency Control (LFC) scheme considering the impact of communication delays and defining the affect of the disturbance on the controlled output as a robust performance index. The paper has special importance for the National Grid’s proposal to introduce LFC service into the UK power grid, which is a key measure to achieve the UK’s target of 15% electricity from renewable energy by 2020.
