Additional information

<11>This is the key publication to alleviate the state space explosion problem experienced in analytical solutions for two-dimensional Markov processes. The numerical difficulties caused by large state spaces make it difficult to handle multiple servers at the second stage of a tandem queuing system together with server failures and repairs. The proposed solution uses an iterative approach, combining spectral expansion with iterations. The advantage of the new analytical solution approach is its ability to handle larger state spaces than existing methods used to solve two-dimensional Markov Processes, without compromising accuracy.
