Additional information

A study of core-shell nanocrystals in unprecedented detail, combining synthesis, TEM, XRD, XPS, fluorescence, and modelling, to unpick the effects of lattice mismatch on shell formation and excitonic structure. Fairclough's thesis was awarded an EPSRC 'PhD prize' by Oxford with eight months of postdoc funding worth £35k to write this and other papers.
