<5>This work proposes a new system to allow Internet Service Providers to take back control of their traffic, currently in the hands of content delivery networks (CDN). Our system allows an ISP to perform CDN server selection (with or without collaboration of the CDN) to optimize delay and reduce traffic. Multiple patents related to this system are currently under submission (EP 10004798.4, EP 11157047.9). Deutsche Telekom (Michael Dueser: Michael.Dueser@telekom.de) is deploying the system in collaboration with Akamai (Bruce Maggs, VP of research at Akamai, bmm@cs.duke.edu).
