Additional information

<22>This paper uses lightly supervised techniques to learn fine-grained distinctions in emotional content in social media. This body of work led to invited industry talks (Unruly Media 2011 daveganly@gmail.com, Chinwag 2012 http://chinwag.com/insight/psychology) and the 2011 formation of a spinout company to exploit the results (http://chatterbox.co/, stuart@chatterbox.co). This has been profitable from its first year, and attracted TSB SMART grants (700081, 720149); EU FP7 funding (611733); one of 16 places from over 1,000 applicants in Telefonica's Wayra startup incubator with £65,000 investment (simon.devonshire@telefonica.com); an invitation to roundtable talks at Downing St; and shortlisting for PraxisUnico’s Impact Awards (nicky.warnock@praxisunico.org.uk).
