Additional information

The novelty of this EPSRC-funded work is that it presents nonlinear finite element (NLFE) models for predicting the response of shear-critical, fibre reinforced polymer- (FRP-) strengthened concrete members to different loading histories. The NLFE models successfully employ the phased analysis technique to model realistically the process of strengthening concrete structures under load. In the absence of widely accepted design models for concrete structures strengthened in shear with FRP reinforcement, the outputs of this research provides the industrial and academic communities with validated, ready for use predictive tools capable of predicting the capacity, deflection, and crack pattern of FRP-strengthened concrete members.
