Additional information

This paper showed for the first time that terahertz imaging can distinguish between precancerous tissue and healthy colon tissue in samples from 30 volunteers. This was a part of an ongoing collaboration between UCL Medical Physics and a UK SME, Teraview. They provided funding and support for Reid, a PhD student who I was primary supervisor for. The work included new experimental data and a novel analysis which has since been developed in a further publication. Teraview are now interested in extending this work towards a new endoscopic application for terahertz imaging.
