Additional information

<05> This paper implements co-simulation, integrating the strengths of SIMULINK and OPNET to produce more realistic simulation results. Once the plant and controller models are built in SIMULINK, various network models can be chosen in OPNET to optimise the overall system performance. On the other hand, if the network model and plant models are known in advance, different controllers can be applied without affecting the network or the plant model. This gives a strong modularity feature to the co-simulation. Furthermore, the proposed SIMULINK-OPNET co-simulation is a generic approach and can be applied to any Networked Control System simulation.
