Additional information

The gasification of biomass-derived fuels provides a route to higher efficiency electricity generation at small-to-medium scale with minimal climate change impact. While reliable production of a fuel gas of stable composition is the primary aim, the residues also provide a valuable soil conditioner/fertiliser. These studies highlight the importance of fuel pellet parameters in the biomass supply chain. Contact: Prof Jim Swithenbank (Sheffield University), j.swithenbank@sheffield.ac.uk.
