An output from research undertaken during a joint ESPRC-Airbus funded project, Optical fibre sensors for skin friction measurement 2 (EP/F005121). This research led to an invitation to bbe a partner in the EU FP 7 project entitled Advanced In-Flight Measurement Techniques (AIM2), a 4M Euro programme, 670k Euro to Cranfield, to further develop the technology.
