Additional information

<20> Based on a general-to-specific inference perspective to modelling user-experience, a model of user-experience was explored in three studies using Web sites. A major prediction was the indirect effect of judgement of aesthetics on perceived usability through judgement of overall quality. All studies supported the model’s predictions and its stability, with hands-on experience, different products, and different usage modes (action mode versus goal mode). Within a unified framework of judgement as inference (Kruglanski et al., 2007), our approach allows for the integration of the effects of a wide range of information sources on judgements of user-experience.
