<22> This paper applies the notion of landmarks in Planning (an approach introduced by the first author and awarded the Influential Paper Award at ICAPS 2013) to the control of trajectory in narrative generation. This work demonstrates the use of this mechanism in combination with character perspective to generate qualitatively different story variants. This conference is highly selective with an average acceptance rate of 22% (source: ACM Digital Library). The implemented system was demonstrated publicly as part of the Technical Demos Program at ACM Multimedia 2010. This work was funded by the European Commission under grant agreement IRIS (FP7-ICT-231824).
