<23> In this paper we describe a novel approach to the use of video in dynamic content generation: something that was previously thought impossible. Our approach successfully integrates video segmentation, stochastically controlled video re-ordering and narrative generation via AI planning to automatically generate filmic variants. The resulting video-based storytelling system was demonstrated at ACM Multimedia 2011, awarded 2nd place in the EuroITV 2011 Grand Challenge Competition and a patent application by the papers' authors has been submitted (US patent application 13/677,797).
