Additional information

The paper extends and generalises some classical stability results in the discrete time setting. In each case it presents a convex search that can be used to test for stability. Improved results are found by careful consideration of the slope-restricted property of the nonlinearities in question. Saturation functions share this property, so the results are directly applicable to computer control with input constraints. Several further results building on this publication are under journal review and documented in Ahmad's thesis (https://www.escholar.manchester.ac.uk/jrul/item/?pid=uk-ac-man-scw:172261).
