Bioimpedance analysis for the characterization of breast cancer cells in suspension
Bioimpedance measurement, via a lab-on-a-chip prototype, which provides rapid cancer malignancy diagnostics from human breast biopsy materials. Bioimpedance spectroscopy is shown to be a useful tool to differentiate malignancy based on the variation of electrical properties presented by different tissues and cells. Tissue electrical parameters: the intracellular conductivity, membrane capacitance/capacity, characteristic frequency are determined by the use of equivalent circuit and physical models to establish cell electrical signatures for further analysis of cancer cell pathology. Contributes to lab-on-a-chip breast cancer diagnostic sensor technology via design and performance assessment.
