Additional information

Carbon replicas of nanoporous materials have very high surface areas and a potential for gas (methane, hydrogen) storage applications. Up to date, this work is the only one to study the influence of the size of zeolite crystals used as moulds for the synthesis of microporous carbons. Zeolite nanocrystals have shown superior performance in many applications. However, they have been found less suitable for synthesis of carbon replicas because of their large external surface areas and accumulation of carbon deposits outside the zeolite micropores.
