Additional information

This was the principle overview describing work from the major project 'Branded Meeting Spaces' funded by the cross Research Council AHRC/EPSRC 'Designing for the 21st Century' Research Cluster. We developed the methodology of 'Research by Design'. We set briefs based on theoretical and practical interests, then co-designed interventions to explore these issues and reflect on the design outcomes. Originality: The principle of 'research by design' as a way to explore to unfolding of cultural meaning with technology using rapid design interventions with stakeholder and designers was novel at the time of publications. Impact: As one of the projects chosen for the 'Designing for the 21st Century' AHRC/EPSRC major cross council initiative, our work was part of snap shot of high quality research in the UK on design.
