Additional information

This paper describes the first application of the novel NMR cryodiffusometry technique to the development of controlled-release devices. This EPSRC-DTA-funded work encouraged neurosurgeons to collaborate on a subsequent MRC-funded Developmental Pathway Funding Scheme project, in collaboration with the Universities of Bath and Bristol, and industrial partners, Renishaw plc, to put the techniques developed to use in developing a drug delivery system used by the neurosurgeons (medical contact: neilbarua@doctors.org.uk).
