Additional information
First report of an electrochemical system used for the in situ monitoring of wound dynamics through using a modified carbon fiber mesh electrode to assess microbial metabolism of a key wound parameter and thus provide an early warning of infection. The work led on to an invited talk (“Developing Sensors for Intelligent Wound Management”) from Johnson and Johnson at their “Nanotechnology in Healthcare Select Symposium” (Invitation only) in August 2010 and subsequently to a long standing collaboration with Lifescan UK (Contact: Marco Cardosi, MCardosi@its.jnj.com)
