Rapid Microwave Synthesis of CO Tolerant Reduced Graphene Oxide-Supported Platinum Electrocatalysts for Oxidation of Methanol
The article is the first to elucidate the important role of oxygen groups on graphene for reducing the CO-poisoning during electrochemical reactions. The conclusions of this paper have been applied to a wide range of graphene based materials for fuel cells. The work was supported by a Leverhulme Trust visiting fellowship (for A. Ganguly, 1212R0197 ) and led to E-MRS 2011 and Carbonhagen 2011 invited talks. This paper with more than 100 citations, was followed by 3 subsequent patent applications (PCT/EP2013/072653; WO/2012/114108; WO 2012/117251), the last one has been licensed to 2-DTech Limited, which is developing intellectual property around graphene.
