Additional information

The relationship between the generation of pressure pulsations in centrifugal pumps and a limited range of design parameters has been, until now, typically investigated through testing. This research enabled the extension of the number of parameters varied to a number of combinations that is too costly to investigate through experimental means. The output of this work enables engineers at Clyde Union, a large British pump manufacturer, to make use of parametric design combinations that have been demonstrated by this study to contribute to minimise damaging pressure pulsations while maintaining high hydraulic efficiencies.
