Additional information

Screen printing finds wide application in manufacture of goods such as organic solar cells, printed electronics, medical diagnostic devices, yet this is the first paper to offer prediction of the film transfer and subsequent experimental validation. Additional to the numerical model, the underpinning physics of the process is elucidated. This has allowed McDermid Autotype, a major supplier to the screen printing industry to exploit the findings of the PhD programme of work on which this was based. Elisabeth Dolden now senior design engineer Sharp Displays, Europe. The resulting products led to sales at a value of ~£2.2M. Corroboration: dparker@macdermidautotype.com.
