Additional information

Accurate solutions for random vibration of a train on an irregular track are obtained much faster than competing methods. The work was funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Chinese Ministry of Education, forming part of our long-term collaboration with Dalian University of Technology’s State Key Laboratory of Structural Analysis of Industrial Equipment. The underlying Pseudo-Excitation method is recommended in the Chinese Ministry of Transport’s Guidelines for Seismic Design of Highway Bridges (JTG/T B01-01-2008), and has been widely used for analysis of long span bridges, dams and offshore platforms (Procedia Engineering 14(2011):2453-2458, doi: 10.1016/j.proeng.2011.07.308).
