Additional information

The first paper to report the development and application of a novel system for online condition monitoring for the mechanical brake system of large-scale industrial wind turbines for diagnostic purposes. The system developed was exhibited at the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) 2013 exhibition held in Vienna Austria, and demonstrated under actual conditions in the field during the FP7 NIMO project (GA No. FP7-ENERGY-2008-TREN-239462). Subsequently, OPTIMUS (GA No. ENER/FP7/322430/OPTIMUS), a follow-up FP7 demonstration project, was awarded to MP by the EC.
