Additional information

<27> We present a comprehensive study of the transition in the severity of multipath fading between narrowband and ultrawideband channels. Unlike related works, the scope is not limited to a single environment, instead fading in a range of environments characterised by their volume is discussed. The conclusions of this paper are being used to evaluate performance of future communication systems such as machine-to-machine sensor networks based on UWB and deployed in specific confined environments where the wireless channel has not been characterised.
