Additional information

Antenna is one of the critical components that determines the performance of RF energy harvesting systems. The paper presents an approach to optimise ferrite rod antenna design to extract energy from Medium Wave radio signals, which are attractive due to availability of high power transmitters. It presents a case study to obtain an antenna configuration that is able to power low power devices. The paper also describes early antenna prototypes and experimental results that show the feasibility of the approach to power a low power LCD clock from MW band.
