Additional information

This paper considers the relationship between energy savings and thermal comfort for UK industrial buildings and retail sheds in particular. Based on computer modelling and simulation, the paper presents a study of how to improve building operational energy conservation with a focus on energy saving from artificial lighting. The key findings of this study urge the installation of automatic lighting control systems in industrial buildings with roof-lights. This practice has been adopted into a UK pilot shed for further investigation.
