Additional information

This paper presents practical verification of theoretical results on the power spectral density of dicode Pulse Position Modulation (PPM). This modulation scheme was invented by Sibley (2003) for use in plastic optical fibre links. This paper is the latest in a large body of work on the technique – 10 papers – and shows how dicode PPM can be produced and detected practically. This is part of an on-going investigation into various PPM schemes with the aim of finding the most suitable for use in plastic optical fibre. Such links are finding applications in the home and elsewhere.
