Additional information

<07> The automatic FMEA capability of HiP-HOPS is a key feature that, due to its deductive nature, allows the analysis to consider more combinations of failures than traditional techniques. This paper - extension of earlier work on automatic FMEA by Parker – gives the ability to improve this analysis with temporal information and also consider failure sequences. This allows the modelling of more complex systems where the sequences of failures is critical, and is of particular benefit to evaluation of complex embedded software systems. Work has been evaluated by the companies co-authoring the work, demonstrating the hypothesis presented in the paper.
