Additional information

These concerts, as detailed in the submitted programmes, took place in various venues in Germany between June 2011 and August 2013, with one in St Cecilia’s Hall, Edinburgh in June 2012. The performances were usually as an ensemble, John Kitchen playing organ (harpsichord in Edinburgh) and Susanne Ehrhardt playing recorders and a variety of early clarinets; two of the recitals were entirely of solo organ music. The concerts concentrated on the music of the 17th and 18th centuries, and were a development of John's practice-led research into the music of this period and into early keyboard instruments. All the organs played were historic German instruments, of great intrinsic merit, and invaluable in the information they offer about performance practices of the period.
