Additional information

Understanding turbulence and combustion contributes to the development of new combustion technologies addressing energy and climate challenges. Despite previous efforts a rigorous modelling approach capable of predicting various phenomena for modern ‘flexible’ combustors which is also computationally tractable for industrial use is still lacking. Here, we introduce a new combustion model that unifies existent approaches under one single framework that is both robust and computationally efficient. The model has been adopted by research groups (Universities of Stuttgart, Sydney, Queensland, Waterloo, Imperial) with multiple publications and tested in a wide range of applications successfully (see http://sydney.edu.au/engineering/people/m.cleary.php, http://www.itv.uni-stuttgart.de/forschung/projekt7/index.en.html)
