Additional information

The research leading to this paper was motivated by the need for better physical understanding of fuel droplets collision dynamics realised in numerous physical processes and liquid fuelled engines and it was funded by the DWDIE EU project. The CFD model developed accounts for the simulation of the collision/coalescence of micro-size liquid droplets comprised by both immiscible and non-immiscible fluids at conditions where quantitative measurements are almost impossible to be obtained. The paper encapsulates over 5 years’ work in this field, resulting in 2 PhD theses.
