Additional information

In this paper a novel concept of multi-channel fibre optic surface plasmon sensor is presented. Unlike conventional fibre optic Surface Plasmon Sensors, this approach provides multiple sensing channels on a single fibre and thus benefits from reference-compensated bio-sensing. The work has led to the study of four distinct interactions in real-time suggesting a novel and interesting biofunctionalization approach with applications in immunosensing and basic life science research. The presented methodology can also be used to study simultaneous interactions between the immobilized biomolecules. The sensor proposed in this paper is currently being commercially exploited by Optisense a biosensor manufacturer.
